Charlottesville’s B.U.C.K Squad hosts party for kids on South First Street

Another beautiful summer-like Friday means another chance for the B.U.C.K Squad to host a day for the kids.

On Friday, they gave the community a chance to get books from the Free Book Bus, eat pizza, see the inside of a rescue truck, and even get a fresh haircut.

Event organizer Shelly Martin says it’s important to give kids a safe, fun day to just be kids.

“We need to touch the babies, the babies is our future,” she said. “So we try to outreach to the babies and let them know that you are safe and everything is going to be okay.”
